OnSSI Showcases Ocularis 5 VMS at ISC West

Delivers Easy Migration Path, Greater Efficiency, Better Network Security and More

Las Vegas, NV  - OnSSI has a longstanding reputation for drawing big crowds to its demonstrations at ISC West, and this year’s showcase of Ocularis 5 will prove to be no exception. Visitors to OnSSI’s booth (#13074) are experiencing firsthand the benefits of the company’s Ocularis 5 Video Management Software (VMS). The latest version of Ocularis features a number of updates and new technology integrations designed for faster and easier installation, configuration and operation; more robust network security, and improved hard drive efficiency while simplifying workloads and overall system management.

“Ocularis 5 is by far the most advanced VMS solution that the industry has ever seen,” said Ken LaMarca, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, OnSSI. “In addition to offering many unique features, Ocularis 5 is built to greatly improve network and video security.”

Ocularis 5 has a number of exclusive features that set it apart from the competition, including 256-bit AES encryption from Clients to Recorders, a scrambled recorded video database to protect the integrity of the recorded video, and the ability to record directly to a NAS residing anywhere on the network.

Additional new features include a new 64-bit Client, Windows 10 compatibility, Keyword Quick View allowing users to label cameras in their systems and then pull-up a specific set of cameras by searching for a tag, and a new Camera Replacement Tool allowing legacy Ocularis users to easily migrate to Ocularis 5.

Ocularis 5 also improves hard drive efficiency through automatic load balancing across storage volumes, eliminating the need to map cameras to hard drives and assuring that storage builds in a logical and manageable manner. Adding storage is simple and no camera remapping is needed. In addition, by incorporating buffering technology, hard drive idle time is greatly increased and cost-effective SATA drives can now be used without compromising performance.

With new Smart Camera Driver technology, newly introduced cameras from many major manufacturers are supported immediately, without the need to wait for specific drivers to be written. This allows customers to take advantage of new camera features instantly and also eliminates the need for users to update driver packs on all servers. In addition to supporting cameras from many leading manufacturers, this feature supports generic RTSP and MPEG drivers, as well as ONVIF and ONVIF Profile S.

Integrations with leading technology partners continue to grow with Ocularis 5 in access control, license plate recognition (LPR), facial recognition, servers and storage, and much more. This allows for Ocularis 5 to serve as a single intelligent platform for centralizing a wide range of security applications.

Ocularis 5 is offered in three models: Professional, designed for organizations operating multiple locations with small to mid-sized camera counts; Enterprise, built for a wide range of mid to large IT-centric organizations; and Ultimate, created for large organizations with extended command and control needs and recording server failover.
