OMAX's 2626|xp JetMachining® Center Well-Suited for Medical Industry

Kent, Washington, April 5, 2006 - OMAX's 2626|xp is the latest addition to company's line of premiere JetMachining® Centers. Designed with maximum precision in mind, the 2626|xp is experiencing increasing popularity among those specializing in the manufacture of precision medical instruments and devices. Difficult to machine by any standard, these complex parts are usually made of titanium or stainless steel and require extreme accuracy and surface finish. With impressive positioning accuracy of
± 0.001" over the entire 26" of travel, the 2626|xp meets these requirements.

The 2626|xp packs all of its features into a relatively small footprint (57"x 55"), which is also ideal for producers of medical components. In addition to this, the 2626|xp measures just 92" in height, allowing the operator an easier line of sight of the surrounding production environment.

Not only does the 2626|xp deliver unprecedented accuracy while cutting materials such as stainless steel and other metals, but also has the capabilities to machine a variety of additional materials including plastics, glass, ceramics and composites.

The 2626|xp is also equipped with OMAX's Tilt-A-Jet(TM) system, which can achieve virtually zero taper. When the system is in use, software automatically calculates and offsets the natural taper that results from the abrasivejet. The taper is moved from the part to the scrap, leaving parts with perfectly square edges.

The tank and slats are manufactured from stainless steel, the machine comes standard with OMAX software including Intelli-MAX(TM) cutting enhancements, Solids Removal System, 600 lb. Abrasive Delivery System, 60 kBtu Chiller, mounting points for EDM-style tooling, industrial water resistant keyboard and mouse, and the Precision Optical Locator for picking up secondary locations.

As part of the OMAX Technology Guarantee, the company continually works to develop cutting-edge technology and innovative software for its customers. Because OMAX believes in its Technology Guarantee and manufacturing the best parts possible with the best software available, the company provides updated software to all existing customers at no additional charge.
