NTSB Releases Bus and Truck Safety Forum Video



WASHINGTON, D.C. The National Transportation Safety Board has released a short introductory video highlighting the issues that will be discussed during next week's public forum on bus and truck safety. NTSB Board Member Robert L. Sumwalt will chair the two-day forum, being held on May 10 and 11, 2011, in the NTSB Board Room and Conference Center in Washington, D.C.

The purpose of the forum is to review the progress that has been made in truck and bus safety in the last decade, and what needs to be done to improve it. The forum will focus on such issues as carrier oversight, truck and bus operations, driver safety and health, and enhanced vehicle safety technologies.

Representatives from federal and state agencies, the trucking and bus industries, unions, and advocacy groups will serve as panelists during the forum.

The introductory video is now available at youtu.be/3CehIPVkaCg. The public can also view the forum in person or by live webcast on the NTSB's website. An agenda and webcast details are available on the Board's website on the Truck and Bus Safety Forum page.
