Noser Engineering AG Showcase How Augmented Reality and Smart Wearable Devices will Shape the Future of B2B, Work and Productivity at X-Days

WINTERTHUR, Switzerland – Noser Engineering AG in Association with Sage Switzerland AG will Demonstrate How Augmented Reality and Google Glass™ Provide a Hands-free, Realtime, Data Rich Operating Environment.

Noser Engineering AG the Swiss based global information technology consultancy announced today they will demonstrate how Augmented Reality and smart wearable devices are beginning to shape the future of B2B, work, and productivity at X-Days 2014 in Interlaken, Switzerland from March 19-20, 2014.

During the course of a joint presentation on the opening day of X-Days 2014, Noser Engineering and their partners Sage Switzerland, will demonstrate the recently developed Sage Inventur- App, and how Augmented Reality and Google Glass can be implemented within an inventory Management/Logistics environment. Historical facts, and projected trends about Augmented Reality used in combination with smart wearable devices will be discussed. As well, the potential for businesses small and large to transform the way individuals and teams work through Augmented Reality and smart wearable devices will be explored.

"The potential areas of application of augmented reality in business, and in particular, field engineering services are almost limitless," said Geri Moll, CEO, Noser Engineering AG. "By combining the use of Augmented Reality and smart wearable devices to provide a hands-free, realtime, data rich operating environment, individuals and teams can make informed decisions quickly and work together remotely as if they were in the same room leading to increased productivity, safety, innovation and quality." Jean-Jacques Suter, CEO of Sage Switzerland AG, adds: "Such interaction between man and machine within Augmented Reality opens up new dimensions for business processes."

Wearable computing devices in the form of glasses can bring savings, especially in smaller and medium-sized companies. Noser Engineering will demonstrate how in a warehouse environment enriched with information, which is projected directly in front of the eye, the exact storage location as well as the individual packages are indicated by the smart glasses. The barcode can be scanned with the glasses and the goods will be shown as picked in the system. And for example, if a lift or piece of equipment at the warehouse is defective, support can be requested directly. A support team that sits anywhere in the world, can be contacted immediately and with instructions given visually and accoustically through the glasses, simple repairs can be made. The glasses can also contribute to workplace safety as safety instructions of all kinds can be stored and visually or acoustically communicated to warehouse staff. At the end of the day, smart glasses could generate automatic reports within minutes.

Augmented Reality - Theory, Practice, Smart Glasses - will be presented on March 19, 2014 at 15:00 by Martin Straumann, Head of Mobile Solutions, Noser Engineering AG and Edwin Buetikofer, Director Research & Development, Sage Switzerland AG. Noser Engineering will also showcase the App, and the potential of Augmented Reality at X-Days 2014, March 19-20 in Interlaken, Switzerland, at their booth number P03.
