Non Magnetic Connectors Catalog Edition


RADIALL announces that its first of non magnetic connectors is now available: catalogue reference D1034CE.

This catalog presents a complete series of RF non magnetic connectors and cable terminals (UMP, MMCX, SMB and SMA series) with 23 part numbers

Center contacts are gold plated over a copper underplate and bodies are plated with BBR , diamagnetic alloy of copper stain-zinc or with GBR , diamagnetic alloy of copper-stain-zinc with a gold strike. Radiall also proposes several in house high quality surface plating like BBR , GBR or NPGR (Gold plated over a non magnetic Nickel Phosphorus).

Manufacturing a Radiall non magnetic connector involves a special production process, led in an appropriate environment where tools are allocated and where all precautions are taken to avoid any contact with ferromagnetic material during the screw machining and cleaning process. A special packaging process is also necessary.

The ¦¤H/H ext relative distortion of a magnetic field of 1.5 T, generated by Radiall non-magnetic connectors, is only 5.10 ¨C7 maximum, at a distance of 10 mm from the surface of the connector. Moreover, these connectors meet the electrical and mechanical characteristics required for any reliable coaxial connector.

Non magnetic connectors have been designed to respond to the extreme requirements of medical equipment based on magnetic resonance imaging, better known as MRI. This type of RF connector offers superior ¡°non magnetic¡± properties when located inside the magnetic field thanks to its special fabrication process.

Non magnetic connectors are also used for specific space environments, mainly for satellites involved in scientific missions. In this type of environment, the compliance with ESA/SCC specifications is essential to become supplier.
