NLGI Names Dow Corning Representative to Executive Committee


MIDLAND, Mich. (August 6, 2008): NLGI (formerly "National Lubricating Grease Institute") has named David Como, associate lubricants scientist, Dow Corning, to its six-member Executive Committee as Treasurer. Como has been an active member of NLGI for 23 years.

The NLGI is an international trade association that promotes education and technical advancement of grease lubrication, contributing to greater production, increased machine life and a higher quality of machine performance through better lubrication.

"Dave and NLGI share a passion for best industrial lubrication engineering practices," said Randall Rozin, global brand manager for Molykote® from Dow Corning and a member of the company's lubricant business board. "I am pleased to see Dave move into this new role, where his drive and commitment will continue to add to NLGI's success."

Prior to his promotion to treasurer, Como served for six years on NLGI's board of directors, chairing the organization's web site committee, participating on both the "NLGI Mark" and site selection committees, and creating and chairing the "Grease Application and Maintenance" educational course. At Dow Corning, Como currently serves as flagship technology team leader for Molykote after more than 30 years in various roles from plant engineering to technical service.
