Nissan and Quantum Partner on Second Stage Manufacturing Program

IRVINE, Calif., Feb. / -- Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ:QTWW) today announced that its subsidiary, Tecstar Automotive Group, has received a letter of intent from Nissan North America, Inc. for the production of the special edition Nissan Titan Onyx.

The special edition vehicle will be based on the concept version of Nissan's popular full-size Titan pickup unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show on February 8, 2006. Working together with Nissan, Tecstar designed the Titan Onyx to add a new level of visual appeal for customers who seek higher levels of customization. The Titan Onyx is highlighted by 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome running boards, and a unique grille and deep front valance. Inside, the Titan Onyx features "piano black" interior trim, "satin" gauge bezels, embroidered floor mats, aluminum brake and accelerator pedals, and special accents on the steering wheel and head restraints.

"We are excited to add Nissan as a new customer for our second stage manufacturing business with this major program," said Alan P. Niedzwiecki, President and CEO of Quantum. "This substantial relationship with a new customer is an early result from our Quantum-Tecstar initiatives to diversify our customer base and increase our revenues."

"This significant second stage manufacturing program exemplifies the growing worldwide demand for our capabilities and experience as the industry leader in fast-to-production specialty vehicles. Quantum turns concepts into limited volume production, for applications ranging from hybrid electric vehicles to alternative fuel vehicles, including natural gas, propane, and hydrogen, to fuel cell vehicles, as well as for mainstream automotive and ultimate high-performance specialty vehicles," added Mr. Niedzwiecki.
