Nice Sun PV Co., Ltd. Purchases Multiple DEK Solar Apollo Systems on Day One of SNEC

DEK Solar is pleased to announce a fantastic start to the recent International Photovoltaic Power Generation Conference and Exhibition (SNEC) in Shanghai, China.  On the first day of the show, leading solar manufacturer Nice Sun PV Co., Ltd. purchased several DEK Solar Apollo metallization platforms to integrate into its existing DEK Solar PV 1200 lines.  The new platforms are specifically designated for applications incorporating print-on-print (PoP), a metallization technique perfected through the use of DEK Solar precision screens.

Now seen as the primary driver to achieving ultra-fine collector fingers and reduced silver consumption, PoP enables solar specialists to control the amount of silver used in the busbars independently from the volume used in the rest of the grid.    The PoP process utilizes two-stage printing through optimized and perfectly-matched screens, which yields higher, narrower collector fingers for reduced shadowing and greater conversion efficiency.  By design, this technique also allows independent control of the busbar height as the busbars are generally printed with the second material print, where a thinner layer of material can be applied, thereby reducing the silver volume used for the busbars.   At Nice Sun, the PoP process will be carried out on-board the Apollo metallization platform, which boasts +/- 10 µm accuracy at 2 Cpk and a low breakage rate of less than 0.15%, delivering outstanding throughput and yield in a compact footprint.

Commenting on the company's latest investment, Mr. Zhu Xu-dong, General Manager at Nice Sun, said:  "I am delighted to expand our successful partnership with DEK Solar.  Their continued innovative work to reduce silver consumption, drive up cell efficiency and increase line yield on a proven platform made DEK Solar the natural choice for Nice Sun."

Headquartered in Zhangzhu, Yixing City, China, Nice Sun manufactures complete solar photovoltaic systems from solar cells through to integrated solar systems and equipment.  With the purchase of the DEK Solar Apollo platforms, Nice Sun has dramatically expanded its production capability and looks forward to collaboration with DEK Solar on current and future requirements to advance PV technology and foster widespread solar adoption.

"We look forward to working on future development initiatives with Nice Sun," said Zhang Dan, DEK Solar China Sales Manager. "The technologists at DEK Solar's Suzhou Technology Centre are anxious to welcome the Nice Sun team to our state-of-the-art research centre and progress efficiency-enhancing, cost-reducing solar processes.   I can't think of a better way to have started our week at SNEC!"
