New Space-Ray Brochure

New Space-Ray Brochure Describes Positive Pressure Low Intensity Tube Heaters and Unique Tube Integrity Safety System (TISS)(TM)

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina - A new four-page brochure describing eight different PTS/PTU Series Positive Pressure Low Intensity Infrared Tube Heaters from Space-Ray in over 100 different configurations and capacities is now available.

Titled Low Intensity PTS/PTU Series Tube Heaters - Positive Pressure, the brochure highlights the various features, models and dimensions of Space-Ray's positive pressure low intensity tube heaters. Also highlighted is the innovative patent-pending Tube Integrity Safety System (TISS) (TM) unique to Space-Ray that provides additional safety to business owners.

The heaters are available in both natural and propane gas, are CSA-approved and are available in capacities from 40,000 BTU/hr to 200,000 BTU/hr. The PTU Series is mainly designed for use in high heat loss areas and for spot heating while the PTS Series is mainly designed for use in general building heating applications.

Applications are varied and range from industrial plants and warehouses to aircraft hangars, machine shops, weld shops, maintenance facilities, automotive body shops and dealerships, fire stations, restaurants, sports facilities and greenhouses, farm buildings or dairy barns, waste water treatment plants, car washes and many others.

Brochure Described

The brochure begins with a section on Space-Ray's over 60 years of experience in
infrared heating, a discussion on heating innovations for the next millennium and a section on how 30 to 50% of annual fuel savings can be achieved with infrared heating versus forced air heating.

Features of the heaters are then given including the choice of one-stage or two-stage input controls, the unique totally enclosed burner box and the centrally located thermostat and gas connections. The heaters have a noise level of below 60 dB (A) and have highly efficient aluminum reflectors with a 97.5% reflectivity rating with up to 45o rotation to direct the heat were needed.

Sub-sections then provide details of the positive pressure push through system, the burner system, the radiant emitter tubes and the reflector system.

Next, specifics are given on the emitter, tube, length and total square footage as well as the choice of vented or indirect vented or sidewall or through the roof vented.

A detailed description of the innovative TISS(TM) feature found only on Space-Ray heaters is then given. Designed to provide peace of mind, this section details how an insulated wire is placed above the reflector and how the voltage circuit control continuously monitors clearance between the reflectors and the ceiling for excessive heat and tube integrity compromise. If the heat becomes excessive due to a heat exchanger failure, the wire melts, the safety circuit is broken and the gas controls shut down.

This is followed by various layout options available including elbows, corner and side reflectors as well as other planning tools. Layout options include straight, L-shaped, extended U-shaped and Z-Shaped for the PTS Series and U-shaped for the PTU Series system. Lengths for both the PTS or PTU heaters vary from 10 to 70 feet. Mounting
heights vary from 10 to 80 feet.

About Space-Ray

Space-Ray offers among the broadest and most complete line of tube heaters in the
industry with over 300 different heating configurations to choose from to exactly match the need of their customers. Space-Ray has manufactured gas-fired infrared heating systems since 1949.

Unlike forced-air heating which works from the top down, radiant gas heat works from the bottom up, warming people, floors, and machines first for optimum comfort.

Beside the line of PTS/PTU Series Low Intensity Tube Heaters using positive
pressure, Space-Ray also offers a complete line of negative pressure heaters including a line of 38 different models of LTU Series and LTS Series high capacity tube heaters, 16 ETS/ETU low intensity tube heaters, a complete line of ceramic heaters, and radiant floor heaters. The company also offers an exclusive computerized COMPUHEAT heat loss analysis free of charge to qualified plant managers, contractors and building owners.

Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Gas-Fired Products also has a wholly owned subsidiary in Ipswich, England.
