New Soy Grease Meets NLGI's GC-LB Specifications

Environmental Lubricants Manufacturing, Inc. (ELM) announced that it has developed a soybean oil-based grease that meets the National Lubricating Grease Institute's (NLGI) GC-LB specifications. Greases that meet GC-LB are used for automotive applications and can be used in high speed bearings. "ELM has been manufacturing and selling greases in several market areas including food industry, railroad curve grease, and truck chassis applications" said Dr. Kasturi Lal, Senior Vice President of Technology for ELM. "But, this grease was designed to have high dropping points and resist water wash out to meet NLGI's GC-LB requirements for automotive use".

Mike Jensen, Product Manger for ELM grease products said, "To the best of our knowledge, this is the only vegetable oil-based GC-LB grease listed on the NLGI web site." ELM's greases are marketed under the brand name SoyLube and are primarily based on soybean oil.
