New Sandvik Coromant Insert Geometry Improves Productivity in Low Carbon Steels

LC inserts provide excellent chip evacuation

Fair Lawn, New Jersey, November 22, 2006 - Sandvik Coromant's new LC insert geometry improves chip evacuation to boost productivity in difficult to machine materials. While conventional geometries cause frequent chip jamming, the LC avoids these interruptions to production.

By lowering the risk of chip jamming, the LC insert geometry is a dramatic step towards trouble-free turning of low carbon steels. Additionally, the highly effective evacuation of chips reduces the risks that chip accumulation can pose to the cutting tool and surface finish of the machined component. Higher feeds will also be achievable thanks to the availability of wiper inserts.

The new low carbon LC geometry is now available in the GC4225, GC1525 and GC2025 grades of turning inserts.
