New ProfiSignal 3.2 Upgrade for Delphin DAQ Systems
New Features Added to Delphin's Measurement and Analysis Software
CHESTERLAND OH — CAS DataLoggers and Delphin Technology have partnered to announce the latest update to the popular Delphin ProfiSignal measurement and analysis software. ProfiSignal Version 3.2 is now available to Delphin users and includes upgrades to both ProfiSignal and the DataService/Configurator software. Many new functions and enhancements have been added to make it even easier to operate the DataService and to configure ProfiMessage devices.
To begin with, the new ProfiSignal sequencer object combines programs running in both the DataService and ProfiSignal. Users can select and link analog and digital channels to set point curves, and easily integrate stop points and the conditions for processing to continue. The sequencer is ideal for managing thermal/climate chambers, burn-in processes, experiments and test stands—for example, it's easy for users to generate a repetitive signal for constructing reliability tests. The object also allows Play/Stop/Pause and channel visibility on/off access for tight control.
With this latest update, ProfiMessage devices can now be fully configured offline. Existing ProfiMessage configurations can be loaded, edited and saved. This function is especially useful for mobile applications. Saving and loading of partial configurations is also supported.
The DataService "Find and Replace" functions have been extended and can be used, for example, to replace partial strings, e.g. part of a channel name, for all channels. This saves time when configuring a ProfiMessage device.
Additionally, a new PID Controller function is now built into Delphin TopMessage devices for industrial process control applications such as packaging, ovens, manufacturing machinery control and more.
The new update also adds channels in the DataService for all devices. Previously with Delphin products such as the TopMessage data loggers, users had to create software channels for the devices, but now they are already available. This is especially convenient for use with the portable Delphin Expert Key data acquisition systems: now users have the same functionality possible with Message devices while using the Expert Key models. The update also adds the ability to take frequency measurements with Expert Key data loggers, so now the device's 12 digital inputs can be used for this.
A new xmIP Development Tool now enables users to make use of Delphin hardware for other types of computer applications and lets them access the Delphin's interface. This is especially useful for users developing their own applications.
Password protection for the DataService and ProfiMessage devices have been upgraded and consolidated. ProfiSignal has been extended with a universal import filter for ASCII data. Visualization objects can now be directly linked to alarms in the alarm table, saving users time when creating visualization views.
The new update has also added a selectable debounce input filter. Formerly, users ran into a problem when working with relay switches which repeatedly make contact when they're first switched, so the input filter captures all those digital changes and helps prevent these false events/counts.
