New "Made to Order" Program Lets Contractors Purchase C&I Wiring Devices in Custom Configurations

On-line Product Configurator speeds product assembly and installation; reduces cost and environmental waste

Little Neck, NY, December 3, 2008 - Leviton's new "Made to Order" program lets busy contractors custom design commercial and industrial switches, receptacles and GFCIs in configurations that best suit their needs. Accessible from the company's website at www.leviton.com/MTO, the commercial and industrial wiring device configurator saves installers and prefab contractors time and labor by enabling them to order devices that precisely match their installation requirements, while saving costs and reducing unnecessary packaging waste.

In three simple steps, contractors, specifiers and other trades professionals can quickly and easily configure devices to match their installation needs. Users simply select one of three categories of devices, choose the color they desire and components to remove or include, then click on the email or PDF button and save, print, share the information with their project team, or send it to their Leviton sales representative for pricing and delivery information. With just one click, users can also view the product's complete specifications on the product page of the Leviton website, or when viewing the product specifications page, be directed to the configurator on the "Made to Order" page.

Leviton C&I AC Toggle Switches, Receptacles in Duplex, Single, Locking and Hospital Grade versions and Leviton SmartLockPRO® GFCIs in Standard and Hospital Grade versions are a cinch to configure using the easy-to-navigate on-line tool. Products are categorized (i.e., switches, receptacles and GFCIs) for quick easy identification with catalog numbers displayed as well as basic descriptions and ratings to facilitate their selection.

AC Toggle Switch offerings include devices with or without ears and with or without mounting screws, in up to five colors. Receptacle and GFCI configuration options include devices with or without ears and mounting screws in a variety of color selections, and grounding clip and split circuits, where applicable.

Up to 60 unique devices can be customized and shipped in 50-piece cartons, ideal for assembly line feeds. Bulk carton packing eliminates unnecessary packaging, and reduces costs while avoiding environmental waste. Quotes on orders can be turned around within 48 hours, and shipments are normally delivered within a 3-week timeframe.
