New KAPP NILES ZP 12 Gives True Gear and Spline Ltd. True Gear Power

True Gear Spline Ltd. increases grinding capacity and product range with new NILES ZP 12

Cambridge, ON – True Gear Spline Ltd. has added CNC gear profile grinding to their machining capabilities with their newly installed NILES ZP 12 gear grinder. The recently redesigned NILES ZP 12 will allow True Gear Spline to grind larger gears, with much higher tolerance, and increased speed, expanding their services to their customers in the machinery, mining, energy, oil gas, and prototyping sectors.

True Gear Spline serves a worldwide customer base from their 20,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility located in Cambridge, Ontario. A family business established in 1974 by Vinko Bizjak Sr., True Gear and Spline originally began their operations in a 1,200 sq. ft. industrial warehouse primarily hobbing and shaving. After 1980 they moved down the street to progressively larger facilities culminating in 12,000 sq. ft. in 1997. In 1998, they purchased a NILES ZSTZ 315 Gear Grinder which still coexists with their new NILES ZP 12. In 2008 they became ISO 9001 certified.

Historically, True Gear and Spline made gears to AGMA class 8; using the older NILES machines, they achieved AGMA 10. Today, AGMA 11 and 12 are routinely achieved on the NILES ZP 12.

“Continued growth and investing in the latest technology has always been a driving force at True Gear & Spline,” says Vice President, Mark Bizjak who has worked alongside his father Vinko Sr. since he left high school, “and this latest purchase is in keeping with our commitment to accommodate our customers with any type of gear.”

True Gear’s NILES ZP 12 will allow them to grind internal and external gears up to 1.2 meters in diameter. Dual dressers reduce dressing time and gear inspection is on the machine. Also, with the new ZP 12 design, optional software makes worm grinding possible too.

Mark says, “We have had our ZSTZ 315 in production for close to 20 years and look forward to many more years of using the advanced technology offered by the ZP 12 machine. We have had positive experiences with the KAPP NILES staff, and with their sales representative, John Manley of Machine Tool Systems, Inc.” Vinko Jr. adds, “We particularly like the fact that KAPP NILES deals exclusively in gear grinders. The company is highly regarded in the gear industry, and we heard from neighbors in the region that they offer excellent service. With the NILES ZP 12 we can now offer our customers the highest quality possible.”
