New Adept Robotics Centre Inaugurated by PSG College of Technology in Coimbatore, India


Inauguration to be Held at National Seminar on Robotics and Intelligent Automation in Manufacturing & Services Event

Pleasanton, Calif.-July 29, 2009--Adept Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, today announced a new Adept Robotics Centre will be inaugurated by PSG College of Technology, a pioneer in technical education, August 5-6th in Coimbatore, India. The inauguration will take place at the National Seminar on Robotics and Intelligent Automation in Manufacturing and Services event hosted by PSG.

The Adept Robotics Centre at PSG will be launched with an Adept Cobra(TM) s600 SCARA robot with integrated vision-guidance for high-speed handling or precision assembly applications. Plans are underway to add the unique, innovative Adept Quattro(TM) s650 parallel robot with Adept ACE(TM), a new powerful, highly-integrated, point-and-click software, which provides an application development environment for Adept's entire portfolio of robots and controls, and state-of-the-art vision-guidance technology.

The focus of the National Seminar is on the application of automation and robotic technologies in lean and flexible manufacturing, inspection, repairs in hazardous environments, warehousing, food and consumer products manufacturing, medicine, etc. The seminar will also deliberate on exciting current trends in research and innovative application of robotic sciences and exploitation of artificial intelligence tools.
