NEMA Strategic Initiatives Program Earns Distinguished Recognition by ASAE

Electrical manufacturing association named ASAE 2016 Power of A Gold Award Winner

ROSSLYN, Va.—The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) recently named the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) the 2016 Power of A Gold Award winner for the NEMA Strategic Initiatives program. This annual award recognizes a select number of associations that distinguish themselves with innovative, effective, and broad-reaching programs and activities that positively impact the United States and the world.

“NEMA established the Strategic Initiatives program about a decade ago to accomplish two things: to explore interesting new ideas and technologies that might be useful in the future to the electrical and medical imaging industries; and to develop insight and build industry knowledge regarding potential challenges to our industries,” said NEMA President and CEO Kevin J. Cosgriff. “This award is well-deserved recognition of visionary leadership and strategic planning by the NEMA Board of Governors and the hard work of many individuals from Member companies.”

The electrical industry’s 2016 strategic initiatives include multiple aspects of the Internet of Things, including cybersecurity; a deeper understanding of how various actors in medicine value diagnostic imaging; and three elements under the broader notion of smart cities.
