MRC® Hybrid Ceramic Ball Bearings Profiled in Free Product Brochure

The latest four-page product brochure ("Hybrid Ceramic Ball Bearings") profiles the complete line of MRC® hybrid ceramic ball bearings ideally suited for large variable-speed electric motor applications. The literature covers bearing design, features and benefits, specifications, and related technical data.

MRC hybrid ceramic ball bearings combine traditional steel rings matched with silicon nitride (ceramic) balls. They compare favorably with steel counterparts in key performance areas.

The hybrid bearings are 40% less dense than steel balls for reduced centrifugal force and friction, enabling them to run faster and cooler; harder than steel for enhanced wear resistance against hard particles, contaminants, and vibration; and highly inelastic for increased bearing stiffness and reduced deflection under load to promote reliable performance.

Unlike standard steel products, these hybrid ceramic bearings further offer natural insulating properties to prevent electrical arcing (which typically causes fluting-pattern surface damage to raceways and results in excessive noise and bearing replacement).

The brochure identifies MRC hybrid ceramic bearing types available in a wide range of sizes. Customized products can be developed through the MRC Made-to-Order (MTO) program to satisfy particular application demands. Seals or shields likewise can be incorporated.
