Monosol CEO P. Scott Bening Named Innovation Fellow and Honored by United States Congress

MonoSol CEO, P. Scott Bening was recently inducted as a Fellow of The Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana and honored by the 111th Congress of the United States of America by Congressman Peter J. Visclosky.
In accepting his position as Innovation Fellow, Bening noted, "This is an honor. Innovation has become a buzzword lately, but it is a concept none of us should take lightly. Whether it is in finding ways to make a molecule dance, putting creative business deals together, or simply making family and career work in sync-innovation is what drives us all to accomplish important things every day."
Bening was noted for leading the growth of MonoSol over the last two decades, spearheading the invention and development of unique applications for water-soluble films. MonoSol specializes in soluble films used for detergent unit dose delivery, fiberglass and prosthetics fabrication, medical contamination control systems, dust abatement solutions for the US Military, and many other industries. MonoDose(TM) film- MonoSol's water soluble delivery system is widely recognized as the film used in brand-name household laundry and detergent products.
As a result of the success of MonoSol's innovative techniques and products, the company is poised for further expansion. Currently, they are contemplating a doubling of their production facility in LaPorte, IN, and the creation of facilities in the European Union. Bening was one of six Fellows inducted into the Society of Innovators. Nineteen community leaders from a seven county region of Northwest Indiana selected these Fellows from a record ninety-nine nominees. Congressman Visclosky asked his colleagues to commend Mr. Bening and the other outstanding innovators on being names Society Fellows, noting their dedication and commitment to innovation and years of hard work playing a major role in shaping the future of Indiana and communities worldwide.
