MNEISSI Implements Trimble's TL-Pro Software to Increase Engineering Efficiency for Overhead Power Lines in the Philippines

SUNNYVALE, Calif. - Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that its TL-Pro Design and Optimization software has been implemented by MN Electro Industrial Supply Services Inc. (MNEISSI), an electrical contractor for the construction of distribution and transmission lines as well as power sub-stations throughout the Philippines. The software enables utility planners to visualize multiple design scenarios to improve efficiency and easily manage change throughout the lifecycle of electric transmission and distribution lines.

Trimble® TL-Pro is a comprehensive 3D software solution for overhead line design, optimization and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution applications. Modular and scalable, the software enables users to incorporate detailed elevation files, LiDAR, aerial imagery and other user-defined features into a 3D terrain model. Users can then very quickly model the overhead line from extensive libraries of standard structures and then automatically optimize the entire design to expedite construction planning, minimize cost and support compliance.

TL-Pro provides interactive 3D visualization that significantly enhances the user's ability to fully explore loading, clearances, visual impact and more. It also has a powerful optimizer for auto-spotting structures and producing least-cost designs. The software supplements the full range of electric utility solutions from Trimble's routing and corridor analysis solution to materials management for estimating and procurement to field data collection workflows. Extensions to cost effectively maintain existing lines are available, including autofitting, rerating and encroachment reports. In addition, TL-Pro transmission and distribution line design software works with Trimble's full range of geospatial solutions for utilities professionals.

"We are very impressed by the depth and ease of use of Trimble's TL-Pro software. We originally performed excessive manual calculations and painstakingly modeled span by span in CAD," said Michael Nicolas, MNEISSI engineering manager. "We needed an intuitive solution that was not only able to automate a large portion of the design creation, but also allow more detailed analysis to meet tough international design standards. This saves us a significant amount of time. In addition, we are now able to extend our services to include more detailed and complex designs for our customers, as well as robust asset line management that includes managing ground clearances and external clearances to vegetation and buildings."

"Innovative technology is transforming the way electric utilities are planned, managed, built and maintained. Trimble software solutions and design services provide utility customers with tools to save time and cost during the design phase as well as develop more accurate and complete infrastructure models to improve decision making and operational efficiencies," said John Lee, business area manager for Trimble's Electric Utility Power Line Solutions.
