Miller To Showcase New Plasma Cutter, TIG Welder, Helmet Designs and More at 2006 Fabtech International/AWS Welding Show

APPLETON, Wis., 2006 Miller Electric (booth #23040) will showcase several new products, enhancements to existing products and a new Roadshow semi trailer-- a traveling welding and cutting exhibition, complete with classroom--at the 2006 Fabtech International/AWS Welding Show in Atlanta.

New products on display will include the Sycrowave® 200 AC/DC TIG/Stick welder, the Spectrum® 1251 plasma cutter, The Joker and Camouflage design additions to Miller's line of auto-darkening welding helmets and the Maxstar® 700 and Dynasty® 700 TIG inverters. Also on display will be the 75 Series wire feeder, now with Bernard Q-Guns® and Centerfire(TM) consumables, and Bobcat(TM) and Trailblazer® welder/generators with a new, class-leading 23-horsepower engine option.

o The new Sycrowave® 200 AC/DC TIG/Stick welder features an extended power range for welding thicker materials along with several functions to make it even easier for hobbyists or those in light industrial settings to attain professional-quality welds. The Syncrowave 200 helps operators enhance weld appearance with an easy-to-use, built-in pulse control that also helps eliminate burn-through and distortion. o The new Spectrum® 1251 plasma cutter offers a rated cutting capacity of 1.25 in., and can sever 1.75-in. steel. It is designed for hand-held and automated cutting in the heavy fabrication, manufacturing, demolition and maintenance industries. It is Miller's most powerful plasma cutting unit. The Spectrum 1251 is inverter based, weighs only 97 lbs. and also offers Auto-Line enabling simple, direct connection to any 50 or 60 HZ, three-phase primary power level from 190 to 630 VAC. o The Bobcat and Trailblazer welder/generators are now available with a 23-hp gas engine option, making them the most powerful in their class. The higher horsepower provides more welding output for larger diameter wires, faster travel speed and more generator power under heavier loads. Other enhancements include Low-Fuel Shutdown on all diesel models, Oil Change Countdown displays and a new Miller technology exclusive on Trailblazer models: Auto-Crater, designed to decrease DC-TIG weld defects. o 75 Series wire feeder with Bernard® Q-Gun and Centerfire(TM) consumables combine unprecedented reliability in wire aluminum, steel and stainless wires with the Q-Gun's quick and easy changeovers and Bernard's superior gas coverage and extended consumable life. The new unit eliminates feeding problems in even the most difficult applications, improves arc quality, eliminates arc start failures, saves time and money on setups and consumables and eliminates unreliable wire feeder/gun connections. o New Camouflage and The Joker design additions to Miller's line of auto-darkening welding helmets. The Joker portrays a sinister-looking jester amid poker chips, cards, die and an eight ball. The Camouflage helmet features the Hardwoods Brown, High-Definition camouflage pattern. Both are lightweight, comfortable and offer unsurpassed light-state clarity. o The new Dynasty® 700 and Maxstar® 700 inverters are the industry's most advanced TIG/Stick products, delivering new arc shaping options, 5 to 700 amps of weld power and new high-speed pulsed TIG weld controls. They can dramatically increase travel speeds, eliminate inclusions ("tungsten spitting"), eliminate weld flaws related to poor arc starts, permit using smaller diameter electrodes, eliminate the need for exotic gas mixes and reduce cycle time defects and rework.
