Microsemi's Outdoor Power-over-Ethernet Switch Wins Security Industry Association's Best Network Support Solution Award at ISC West New Product Showcase
Company's Device Recognized for Innovation in Electronic Physical Security
ALISO VIEJO, Calif. –Â Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq: MSCC), a leading provider of semiconductor solutions differentiated by power, security, reliability and performance, today announced it is the recipient of the Security Industry Association's (SIA) New Product Showcase (NPS) Best Network Support Solution Award for its PDS-104GO outdoor Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) switch, enabling the connection of multiple powered devices to a network. The solution was recognized for demonstrating the most impressive technological advances in its category, providing customers greater flexibility, longer networks, plug-and-play installation and the needed functionality for outdoor deployment, including extended temperature range, IP 66 and integrated surge protection.

Microsemi's PDS-104GO PoE switch is the optimal solution for outdoor installations where several powered devices are installed in proximity, offering port reset upon request or via pre-defined scheduling. Target applications include installations of wireless local-area network access points (WLAN), mesh access points, small cells, Internet protocol (IP) cameras and microwave point-to-point links. The device provides customers an all-in-one solution with switch functionality for five ports while supporting all existing PoE standards including IEEE 802.3af/at up to 60 watts (W) per port. With unique enclosure and outdoor rated RJ45 connectors, customers do not need to open the unit itself, providing additional safety and ease of use.
The SIA recognized Microsemi and other winners on April 6 during an awards ceremony at ISC West 2016 in Las Vegas, where its NPS offered a special physical display area for potential customers to explore the latest in security products.
