Microfluidics Nanotechnology Expert Selected to Speak at Particle Characterization and Processing Seminar

Newton, Mass. -Microfluidics, a wholly owned subsidiary of MFIC Corporation, announces that Dr. Thomai Panagiotou, Vice President of Research and Development at the company, will be a featured speaker at the Particle Characterization and Processing Seminar, March 20, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla in San Diego, Calif. This educational seminar is free and will focus on applications, problem solving and new developments in particle size technology.

Panagiotou's session is titled, "Microfluidizer® High Shear Fluid Processing: Technology and Biopharmaceutical Applications."

As part of this session, attendees will be educated on Microfluidizer high shear fluid processing technology, which is used for particle size reduction of suspensions and emulsions to sub-micron levels, as well as cell disruption. Attendees will also learn about Microfluidics Reaction Technology (MRT) for the "bottom up" production of nanoparticles through chemical reactions and physical processes.

An acknowledged expert in nanotechnology, Panagiotou holds a MS and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.

To reserve your space at this free, educational seminar please contact Tom Costa at (310) 273-8339 or via email tcosta@paraventures.com by March 14, 2008.
