Material Handling Magazine Spotlights Young Professional
Eric McDonald discusses managing roles.
Dewitt, NY - As part of its continued commitment to highlighting the best and brightest young minds in the material handling industry, the April issue of MHEDA Edge features an article written by Storage Solutions Vice President of National Sales Eric McDonald entitled "Managing Roles." The article chronicles McDonald's entry into the material handling industry and his rapid rise through the ranks.
Since he entered the professional world, McDonald has been involved with material handling. He got his start at a company that manufactured modular office stations. There he called on national accounts, setting up a network of contacts that he would take with him to Storage Solutions. One of the companies that he called on was Storage Solutions. After the company folded, Storage Solutions President Kevin Rowles called and offered McDonald a position. He was excited, but one detail caused him to hesitate. He explains, "I had a great deal of respect for the company and was eager to join, but there was one caveat - I didn't want to leave Kansas City for Indiana. Fortunately, Kevin understood, and after a few conversations, he decided that he would start a Kansas City branch and I would run it."
McDonald started the branch out of his basement and grew it to the successful 4-person operation it is today.
