Methods Appoints James Kucharski Product Manager for Maier Swiss Turning Centers

SUDBURY, MA - Methods Machine Tools has appointed James Kucharski Product Manager for Maier Swiss CNC turning centers. The exclusive North American source for Maier Swiss machines, Methods created the new position to better serve its instrumentation, medical, communications, and biotechnology customers.

Before joining Methods, Mr. Kucharski worked for Connecticut-based Tornos Technologies. With over 17 years of experience selling Swiss and other high-end production lathes, he hired, trained, and supervised a multi-state distributor sales force. Prior to that, he served two years as general manager and applications engineer at Futuristics Incorporated, a Connecticut Swiss screw machine manufacturing company that he helped launch. After graduating from college, he worked as a tool-maker apprentice and CAM design/application engineer. With an extensive knowledge of Swiss machining, Mr. Kucharski has conducted numerous professional training sessions and application seminars on the sliding headstock industry.

"James's business sense and vast experience will be invaluable to the future of the Maier product line," comments Scott McIver, Methods Chairman of the Board. "His reputation and respect, along with the Methods name, should guarantee the continued growth of Maier sales for many years to come."

Unlike conventional Swiss lathes, Maier Swiss turning centers provide start-to-finish machining (simultaneous turning and milling/drilling) in a single operation. They feature 7.5 HP spindles, 2 HP mill/drill motors, machining in up to 15 axes using up to 38 tools (32 driven), angle drilling, and powerful FANUC controls. Designed to turn small, complex parts with high precision, Maier machines can also handle bar stock up to 32 mm in diameter. Combining unmatched power and flexibility, Maier turning centers allow innovative machining strategies that dramatically reduce cycle times without sacrificing accuracy. Maier ML-ProLine CNC turning centers permit 2, 3, or 4 tools in the cut at once. In fact, Maier F Series are the only sliding headstock CNC Swiss machines capable of cutting with 4 tools simultaneously.

The exclusive North American source of equipment, installation, parts, service, and training for Matsuura, Nakamura, FANUC, Exeron, Maier, and other well-known brands, Methods Machine Tools has been a supplier of precision machine tools and accessories for over 49 years.
