NETANYA, Israel -- Jungo Connectivity Ltd [http://www.jungo.com/?PR=ces14, a leading provider of automotive multimedia and connectivity middleware solutions, today announced the availability of its MediaCore version 4.5 on the DRA74x "Jacinto 6" platform from Texas Instruments [http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/omap-applications-processors/features.page (TI).

The DRA74x "Jacinto 6" is the most recent generation of TI's OMAP, a system-on chip designed for multimedia applications running in automobiles. The porting of MediaCore 4.5 to "Jacinto 6" allows the companies to benefit from future opportunities in the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) market.

MediaCore 4.5, from Jungo Connectivity, is the most advanced MediaCore release from Jungo to date. It supports playback and distribution of media in the car and provides connectivity to all the different smartphones and protocols needed for an enhanced IVI multimedia experience.

MediaCore 4.5 includes support for complete audio/video/photo playback and distribution in the vehicle, on both the infotainment center stack as well as on RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment) units and brought-in devices like smartphones and tablets.

Jungo has optimized MediaCore 4.5 to support hardware accelerated capabilities offered by the "Jacinto 6" SoC, such as HD video playback. In addition, MediaCore 4.5 brings with it dedicated support for the latest technologies introduced in devices from Apple and Google, along with proprietary smartphone SDKs for advanced, non-standard, capabilities.

A number of automotive customers have already selected the Jungo MediaCore solution on TI platforms. The MediaCore solution will be demonstrated at several locations during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2014:
