Marvell Partners with Governor Schwarzenegger to Strengthen California's Foreign Trade Opportunities

Governor marks beginning of 2010 Asia Trade Mission Trip at Marvell's Silicon Valley headquarters

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 8 -- Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), a worldwide leader in integrated silicon solutions, today hosted Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as he launched his three-nation Asia Trade Mission with other state business leaders. While in China, the Governor will also visit Marvell's Shanghai Semiconductor Design Center.

Marvell was founded in 1995 by three University of California Berkeley graduates and has grown to become the third-largest fabless chipmaker in the world, shipping more than a billion chips per year, including the key technology behind today's connected mobile devices. Importantly, Marvell makes approximately two of every three chips used in the critical area of information storage, the backbone of the global networked economy.

Marvell is a proud participant in the Trade Mission to help foster and grow business relationships in Asia. "Expanding global trade means jobs for California," said Dr. Sehat Sutardja, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Marvell. "China, Japan, and Korea are among California's top five trading partners and visiting these countries strengthens and promotes a relationship with industries in our state. This mission will play a vital role in advancing trade, travel and tourism between these countries and California."

During the Asia Trade Mission, on September 12, the Governor will visit Marvell's Shanghai Pudong campus where he and Shanghai government officials will preside as Marvell's founders sign an MOU with the Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park and City of Shanghai and announce the construction plan for one of the "greenest" R&D and light industrial campus in China. In addition to announcing the plans and unveiling a scale model for the ultra-clean and energy efficient LEED certified campus, a new research and development alliance between Marvell, University of California Berkley and Tsinghua University will be announced.

"We thank Governor Schwarzenegger for spearheading the effort to increase California trade in Asia," said Marvell co-founder Weili Dai. "Since we founded the company 15 years ago, Marvell has grown into one of the world's most important semiconductor companies with operations and customers around the globe. As I was born in Shanghai, I am proud to join the Governor on this Asia Trade Mission and to promote greater cooperation between both my native and adopted homelands, two of the world's most powerful economies."

The Asia Trade Mission begins in Hangzhou, China and continues to Shanghai, Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, South Korea. Sponsored by the California Chamber of Commerce, Bay Area Council, and Los Angeles Business Council, the trip will bring together California's business leaders to meet with business and political representatives in each city as well as visit the World Expo in Shanghai.
