Marathon Machine Technologies Adds Jig Grinding Capabilities
Marathon Machine Technologies LLC., a versatile job shop in Athens WI, has now expanded its abilities in their most recent purchase of a jig grinding machine. They chose to add the Moore #2 to their grinding room for its accuracy and versatility.
Since their inception in 1995 they have continued to add equipment to step up to their customers' needs. "Our customers often dictate what we do," says founder Lee Rufener. "Our relationship builds with our clients as mutual trust grows. As they see our dedication to quality and service, they often have other projects that they would like us to make for them that we are not set up for." Such was the case leading to the purchase of the jig grinder.
Better Molding Solutions of Hartford CT is a supplier of quick change tooling for the mold industry and has been receiving quality parts from MMT for years. They were having difficulty with one of their vendor's quality and delivery. The problem was brought to the doorstep of MMT. After sending one batch of tooling parts out to a local Jig grinding facility, the decision was made to do the parts in house. "The parts that we received back were not within the .0002" tolerance specified," stated Rufener. "We hesitate to hang our reputation on someone else's workmanship. Having to sub parts out for completion not only incurs extra cost but adds to the delivery time. When we can't control quality and delivery we will seek for a solution that enables us to do so."
After purchase and installation of the jig grinder, the first tooling order was completed to their customer's satisfaction. MMT is now pursuing other companies in need of a jig grinding facility. For MMT, service and adaptability are proven foundations for success and fruitful relationships.
