Malvern Specialist Will Focus on Particle Size and Shape Analysis at Workshop on Building Materials Analysis

15 March 2011: Malvern, UK: Rolf Weiser, Sales Manager for Germany at Malvern Instruments, is part of a line up of invited speakers at 'Building materials analysis 2011', a workshop organised by the Mineralogical/Geochemical Group of the University of Halle/Saale in Germany in co-operation with Malvern's sister company PANalytical. The meeting takes place at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle/Wittenberg, Germany over three days from 28-30 March 2011 and is intended for professionals, scientists and engineers working in the cement industry. On the first day Mr Weiser will discuss 'Particle shape and size determination using automated image analysis'.

Particle size and shape are used in many industries, not only for quality control and production control, but also in research and development. This presentation will include a short introduction to automated image analysis for measuring both size and shape, and presents data from two of the most advanced instruments available for measuring powders, suspensions and emulsions.
