MacPractice DDS 5.1 Preview with Best of Class Charting

Dental Industry Firsts Include Fully Integrated Online Patient Services

LINCOLN, Neb. – MacPractice previewed MacPractice DDS 5.1 at the Greater New York Dental Meeting this week. Among many new and enhanced features that will be delivered with v.5.1 in Q1 2015, this version emphasizes dental specific, best of class enhancements in all clinical charting functions and industry first, fully integrated online patient services.

The leading Mac OS native dental software, MacPractice DDS 5 and v.5.1 are compatible with Yosemite and Mavericks and interoperate with MacPractice's iOS 8 compatible Patient Check In, Clipboard, and iEHR Apps for iPad, as well MacPractice Interfaces for iPad with ePrescribe and MacPractice Interface for iPhone.

"We have studied the competition carefully, and we believe MacPractice 5.1 will be the best dental charting and clinical software," said Mark Hollis, MacPractice co-founder and CEO.

"MacPractice DDS is the only dental software today making it possible for patients to use iPads to enter their own data into their record, and for dentists and hygienists to review patient generated data, visit notes, photos and x-rays with them. With MacPractice 5.1, dentists can avoid expensive web services contracts. They can have a superior online solution at lower costs, with superior practice management software integration and support, and with functionality that can only be provided by their practice management software developer."

MacPractice's Clinical Abilities, which are in the process of being rewritten with the input of dentists who use MacPractice DDS, include Perio Chart 2, Restorative Chart 2, and DR 2 (Digital Radiography/Photo). Scheduling has been rewritten to boost speed and performance in the office, especially for remote offices.

MacPractice plans to provide every web service available from third parties to MacPractice users at a lower cost with tighter integration, along with web services not available elsewhere. In the plan for first quarter are:

--  Patient Portal with ONC/CMS certified functionality and secure messaging

--  patients can view, download, and transmit clinical documents

--  patients can review demographics and request corrections

--  patients can see who has accessed their files and when

--  Online Registration with EHR Forms - discrete data directly in

        MacPractice

--  Appointments - patients can view appointments, confirm, request changes

--  Online Schedule - patients can schedule their own appointment

--  Online Statements - patients can review and pay

--  Online Surveys - patients say what they think, practices can publish

        results

For practices that don't already have a web site, MacPractice even offers to host and create a one page site for $10 monthly. MacPractice has added practice management reports requested by dentists and will continue to do so, at no additional cost to all users. MacPractice will continue to work with Lighthouse 360, Demand Force, and other web services, and with preferred vendor AutoRemind whose tight integration with MacPractice offers phone, text, and/or email patient reminders, along with automatic appointment status updates. MacPractice has also partnered with Transworld to provide users in-application collection services, which are superior to those offered by a web service that cannot write back to MacPractice.

Many other new features in MacPractice 5.1 include integrated fax, HIPAA secure messaging doctor-to-doctor as well as patient and doctor, ICD-10 capability, and government proscribed data security.

Purchasers of MacPractice DDS 5 receive $500 off or $1000 off for an EHR "trade-up" until December 31, 2014!
