Louisiana Public Service Commission Grants SWS Environmental Services Contract Carrier Approval For Waste Transportation

St. Gabriel, LA

SWS Environmental Services (SWSES) has been granted approval by the Louisiana Public Service Commission to transport non-hazardous oilfield wastes, non-hazardous industrial solid waste and hazardous waste over irregular routes, throughout the state of Louisiana. In short, SWSES is now permitted to operate as a contract carrier of waste by motor vehicle statewide.

What that effectively means for Louisiana businesses is that SWSES is now permitted for the transportation of waste resulting from contracted emergency response, demolition, remediation, or cleaning services. While there are some inherent restrictions to the permit, this opens the door for both existing and new customers to take advantage of a fleet of equipment that includes vacuum trucks, roll- on/roll-off trucks, stake body trucks, box trucks, dump trucks and tractor-trailer combination units for waste needs.

This permitting also allows for transporting individually packaged containers such as buckets, drums, and totes up to 275 gallons in volume of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial solid waste. SWS Environmental Services Vice President of Sales Dave Ward stated: “For our typical customer in Louisiana, we have removed a dependency on third party transporters for intrastate waste shipments. This allows us to bring our sense of urgency and professionalism to the whole process, serving the bigger picture which is to be the premier turnkey environmental services provider for our customers.”

The Baton Rouge Service Center is located at 4060 Geigy Access Road, St. Gabriel, LA 70776. Contact the Louisiana Account Manager, Connie Smith, at 225-677-7877 for more information or to establish a contract for waste, environmental or emergency response services.
