Local Manufacturer Adds Industrial Precision Laser Cutting

Montana Hydraulics Adds 3 Jobs and Local Option for Precision-cut Metal Parts

Helena, MT, June 2, 2017 - Montana Hydraulics has expanded its manufacturing capacity into custom metal laser cutting with the purchase of a Mazak Optiplex 3015 Fiber II. This laser cutter offers superior edge quality, more stable cut performance and greater throughput for applications utilizing stainless steel, mild steel, copper, brass, aluminum and other exotic metals up to 1 inch thick. This machine enhances Montana Hydraulics’ current machining and fabrication capabilities to provide highly-accurate products within shorter timeframes. With computer aided design, Montana Hydraulics can produce short-run specialty items, signs, prototypes and mass-produced precision parts for local and regional manufacturers.

“This machine will give us the capability to meet local and statewide demand for precision metal cutting with fast turnarounds and much tighter tolerances and higher precision.” Aaron Kellum, Operations Manager

The new machinery has created 3 new jobs and will operate on two 8-hour shifts. It was installed in May and is scheduled for full productivity by mid-June.
