Linde and Chart Industries Highlighted Cryogenic Industrial Applications at 2015 AWISCO Trade Show for New York Metro Customers

MURRAY HILL and NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. – Linde LLC and Chart Industries participated jointly in a trade show held recently by AWISCO, a Linde Platinum distributor. The show was at AWISCO's headquarters in Maspeth, New York.

Linde LLC is a member of The Linde Group, a world leading gases and engineering company. Chart Industries designs and manufactures of highly engineered cryogenic equipment used in all phases of liquid gas supply. AWISCO, which has been serving the New York Metropolitan area since 1979, is a leading distributor of compressed gases, welding, safety and industrial equipment and supplies.

Each year, AWISCO sponsors an exhibition for about 60 of its partner vendors to showcase the latest in welding, cutting, safety and industrial technology. More than 600 customers attended this year's event. Lloyd Robinson, president of AWISCO, said, "Our customers eagerly look forward to this day every year. Where else could they witness a display of products and processes important to their businesses - all in one day?"

Linde and Chart Industries personnel were on hand to demonstrate industrial applications for liquid nitrogen, including cryogenic deflashing - removal of flash from work pieces such as rubber-molded parts. Chart personnel highlighted the effectiveness of their cryogenic storage vessels, while Linde specialists demonstrated the use of liquid nitrogen which, at minus 321 degrees F, is used in a variety of industrial applications.

Steve Brady, distributor sales manager for Linde LLC, said, "We were delighted to participate with Chart at the AWISCO trade show. We were very pleased with the turn out and the enthusiasm of the attendees. Year after year, the show provides us with an opportunity to meet face-to-face with a large number of companies in a broad spectrum of industries."

Also in attendance at the trade show were more than 100 welding students and staff from the School of Cooperative Technical Education of New York, Western Suffolk Boces, Sussex County Technical School and Morris County Technical School. "AWISCO is committed to developing young welding talent and helping to fill the void in welding professionals that our country is experiencing," said Robinson. "Working with local technical schools and supporting the AWS Foundation are just two of the ways that distributors can contribute to the next generation of welders who will also be the next generation of customers," Robinson said.
