Lighter Container from RPC UKSC for Royal Warrant Holder Prochem

RPC customer Prochem Europe Ltd has been granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen for the supply of carpet cleaning products, and has chosen RPC Containers UKSC's five litre LX container to help meet its environmental objectives.

Prochem Europe Ltd is a leading manufacturer of cleaning and maintenance products for carpets, fabrics and hard surfaces. For many years RPC's RT56 Jerrican was its first choice for packing 5L products but the company recently switched to the new, lighter, 5L LX container, produced at UKSC's Rushden site. The 5L LX weighs 130g, compared with the RT56's 140g.

Prochem's Chemical Product Manager Paul Reynolds says using the new containers has helped Prochem reduce its carbon footprint: "When multiplied by the thousands of containers we use every year, this represents a significant reduction in the packaging weight of our products, with the associated environmental benefits of less packaging waste, and lower energy use in relation to the containers' transport.

"As part of our Royal Warrant application we had to demonstrate our commitment to making continuous improvements in the management of the company's environmental impact. The switch to the lighter 5L LX container is, therefore, a significant step in meeting our objectives."

The Royal Warrant is a mark of recognition to individuals and businesses for the supply of goods and services to The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh or The Prince of Wales for a period of five years or more. It also reflects the recipient's environmental performance and sustainability.
