Life Cycle Engineering Promotes Scott Franklin to Senior Vice President, Reliability Consulting Group


CHARLESTON, S.C-Life Cycle Engineering (LCE), a leading provider of reliability consulting, engineering services and applied technology solutions for government and private enterprise, is pleased to announce the promotion of Scott Franklin to Senior Vice President, Reliability Consulting Group (RCG). Franklin's primary responsibility will be managing LCE's RCG and improving upon the operational philosophy focusing on equipment reliability as the foundation of modern manufacturing operations.

Franklin will be charged with ensuring that the tools and methodologies that are applied by the RCG are a collection of the "Best of the Best," incorporating aspects of Lean, TPM, RCM, and others. By designing reliability into daily plant operations and creating a culture of prevention and improvement, LCE helps plants to operate as safer, more productive, and more profitable businesses.

Franklin joined LCE in 1986 as a systems administrator and quickly rose to several supervisory and management positions. He most recently served as the vice president of the RCG, where he guided the development of the award winning "Three Waves" Reliability Excellence® (Rx) implementation methodology, the "...Powered by Rx" organizational design and model, and the "Excellence Model" for organizational change. Under his direction, the RCG has more than tripled in size, provided frequent speakers at all major reliability conferences including the International Maintenance Conference, Maintenance & Reliability Technology Summit, the Society for Maintenance & Reliability Professionals Annual Conference, and Reliability World, and received the ACEC-SC Engineering Excellence award for the highly successful implementation of Reliability Excellence at the Alcoa Warrick smelting plant.

Franklin holds a B.S. in Physics from the U.S. Naval Academy. He has also successfully completed the Senior Executive Institute (SEI), which is offered through the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC).
