LG Electronics Showcases Comprehensive Suite of Technologies and Solutions at InfoComm 2007

Single Point-of-Contact for Display and Application Solutions Ensures Seamless Integration

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 19 - LG Electronics is showcasing one of the industry's most robust flat-panel display solutions this week at InfoComm 2007 (Booth #2309). From education to airports and restaurants to casinos, LG Electronics offers industry professionals some of the most dynamic, premium flat-panel technologies and digital signage solutions in the market.

"Across the board, demand for premium flat-panel technologies and solutions is growing," said Ron Snaidauf, vice president, Commercial Products, LG Electronics USA, Inc. "As digital solutions rapidly become viable options for business owners to reach their customers, LG is well-positioned to provide these technologies to enhance the consumer experience and encourage interaction."

From Ideation to Implementation

Snaidauf highlighted his company's approach to this expanding commercial digital display marketplace. With in-house research and development, and manufacturing expertise at its core, LG Electronics offers communications and system integration professionals a single point-of-contact to ensure seamless technology and solution integration.

From product development to final installation, LG Commercial Products develops solutions to address the specific needs and requirements of the professional communications and system integration industry. The combination of LG's global manufacturing capabilities and its Chicago-based Commercial Products sales and technology teams make LG Electronics "an agile, single-source supplier of best-in-class solutions," Snaidauf noted.

LG's dedicated sales force and customer service team are committed to supporting the varied number of commercial venues. Snaidauf explained that these experts are available around the clock, working hand-in-hand with professionals to customize commercial applications and solutions, including:

o For education - Touch-screen panels can provide ways for students to
find their way to classrooms on campus.

o For entertainment venues - The Pro:Idiom(TM) digital rights management
system and MPEG-4 decoding technology allow delivery of high-value HDTV
content.

o For stadiums - LG's IP (Internet Protocol) solution controls from one
to many flat-panel displays in large venue applications.

Snaidauf said LG's strategic partnerships help to enhance access to innovative and forward-thinking commercial solutions. With digital signage fast becoming a primary source for advertising content, the need for updating this content quickly and efficiently is rapidly increasing.

One of LG's partners, Triveni Digital, offers SkyScraper(TM) Ensignia, an integrated turnkey suite of products that optimizes bandwidth utilization and allows for scheduled content distribution. Advertising content displayed can range from simple text and still images to full-motion video, with or without audio. LG screens with integrated controllers simplify installations and maintenance while reducing footprint requirements.

Additionally, LG's partnership with DIRECTV® addresses the industry trend focused on creating a home-like experience for consumers. Business owners looking to provide high-definition content to their venues will find LG's integrated LCD and plasma HDTVs with built-in MPEG-4 decoding technology make this possible. The MPEG-4 technology standard provides compatibility with the more than 150 national HD channels and 1,500 local broadcast HD and digital channels scheduled to launch on DIRECTV.

Robust Selection of Flat-Panel Displays

From the 19-inch FLATRON LCD monitor (L1918S-BN) to the 71-inch plasma HDTV display (71PY1M), LG's vast line of commercial plasma displays and LCD TVs and monitors will be displayed in multiple vignettes throughout LG's InfoComm 2007 booth, highlighting innovative and integrated technology solutions for business applications today.

With its complete technology classroom solution, integrated HD technology, centralized video content and display control and wide-viewing technologies, LG is well-equipped to meet the demands of the various channel markets, including education, restaurant/bar, entertainment and business.

Additionally, LG's integrated "Public Display Settings," featured in LG's PC5DC plasma display series, allow custom installers to clone settings and easily apply them across multiple units, ideal for stadium boxes to restaurants and bars as well as retail locations. LG continues to meet the industry's need for elegance and seamless continuity between digital signage and its surroundings with the M4210 LCD series, sporting 29 mm super-thin bezel to help emphasize the programming over the hardware.

With LCDs up to 55 inches and plasmas up to 71 inches, LG is able to meet the healthcare industry's vast needs for digital solutions in waiting rooms, solaria, cafeterias, meeting rooms and doctor's offices.

Integrated, Innovative Technologies

Understanding the growing demand for innovative technologies that are easily incorporated into business owners' networks, LG has integrated a variety of new technologies into its commercial products.

This month, LG is delivering the industry's first integrated LCD and plasma HDTVs with built-in MPEG-4 decoding technology for displaying satellite-delivered high-definition (HD) content. Since this MPEG-4 technology is integrated into these sets, with the compressed data, more HD channels become available to the consumer.

LG also is the first in the industry to include the industry-standard Pro:Idiom(TM) digital rights management (DRM) system, a robust, highly secure technology platform that helps to assure rapid, broad deployment of HDTV and other high-value digital content. This DRM solution was developed to meet the requirements of high-value content providers to effectively protect digital video and audio content, provide the most cost-effective solution for integrators, PPV providers and manufacturers, offer a low implementation complexity to allow easy adoption by all parties, and allow system specifications to be controlled by stakeholders in the respective industries.

Offering business owners diverse and innovative options to reach their customers, LG's new Internet Protocol (IP) Solution technology enables the digital signage industry to deliver video content to multiple locations with centralized video content and display control capability. Its new M4210C-BA model along with M3701C-BA and M3201C-BA models utilize the company's IP Solution for integrated networking designed specifically for LG displays. The widescreen M4210 series is capable of portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal) orientation, further addressing the digital signage industry's need for maximizing space and customizing its digital signage network.
