Leviton Establishes Presence in South Korea with Opening of Regional Sales Office in Seoul

Melville, NY, June 12, 2009 -- Leviton Manufacturing Company, North America's leading producer of electrical and electronic wiring devices, commercial and residential infrastructure technology and energy-efficient lighting systems, is pleased to announce the opening of its regional sales office in Seoul, South Korea. The new office is located on the 22nd floor of the iconic Mapo Trapalace building in Seoul's downtown area, and will be home to a staff of Leviton sales, engineering and administrative professionals.

Leviton's entry into the South Korean market will initially focus on the sale of its commercial network solutions and lighting energy management products throughout the area. Leviton commercial networking products provide the infrastructure for the telephony and data center needs of large corporate clients. The company's line of energy management solutions offer commercial customers a way to reduce lighting energy consumption by harvesting natural daylight and providing control over lighting so that lights are on only when office space is being used. Leviton building system solutions are scalable, inoperable and enable companies to operate more productively and more profitably while reducing their carbon footprint.

"The opening of our South Korea office is evidence of our commitment to developing a global presence in key markets around the globe," said Bruno Filio, Vice President of International Sales for Leviton. "Our advanced technology, human capital and the strategic partnerships we have built with other key leaders in their fields will help us achieve the status of global leader in the electrical industry."

In April, Leviton appointed James Choi as Country Manager for Korea to develop the infrastructure, relationships and resources to begin developing Leviton's presence in the region. Leviton has manufacturing plants in Mexico and China, in addition to the U.S., and sales and administrative offices in Mexico, Latin America, Dubai, Europe and Canada. The company is moving its global corporate headquarters later this month from Little Neck, Queens to a state-of-the-art office complex in Melville, Long Island.
