Lee Wygant Named Materials Specialist at Goodfellow Corporation

Oakdale, PA - September 2, 2011 - Goodfellow, a leading global supplier of metals and materials for research and specialized manufacturing, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lee Wygant as Materials Specialist. Lee assumes various technical responsibilities both for customers and suppliers to the company.

Lee earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Penn State University and has extensive experience in materials selection and purchasing as well as applied engineering. Most recently he served as Mechanical Materials Specialist for Laird Plastics, where a significant part of his responsibilities was to provide solutions for customers seeking alternative materials and designs for maximum performance at reduced cost.

"Researchers and engineers are always seeking a competitive edge, and they often find it when they break away from the usual way of doing things," says Lee. "When that involves the selection, fabrication or finishing of metals or materials like ceramics, polymers and composites, my colleagues and I at Goodfellow can often help them find alternatives to what they've been using - alternatives they may not be familiar with, in sizes, thicknesses and forms they may not know are available. Sometimes these options are less expensive or offer more desirable properties for the task at hand."

Lee will also serve as technical liaison to Goodfellow's suppliers, a role of increasing importance to the company and its customers. States Stephen Aldersley, President of Goodfellow Corporation, "Our business is growing as companies seek to gain competitive advantage through more targeted R&D, especially during the current economic situation. Lee's expertise will enable him to find and qualify American manufacturers to partner with Goodfellow to provide innovative new materials to our customer base."
