Leading Aerospace Tubing Experts Exhibit at AIRTEC 2015

Superior Tube and Fine Tubes recently presented their range of high-strength aerospace products at AIRTEC 2015 in Munich, Germany. Incorporating a leading trade exhibition with a high-caliber international aerospace congress and a forum for B2B-meetings, AIRTEC has become one of the most effective platforms for the entire aerospace supply chain to create new opportunities.

For US-based Superior Tube and UK-based Fine Tubes, the event represented an ideal opportunity to gain an insight from the aerospace industry's leading OEMs,- including Airbus, Boeing, Parker Aerospace, Liebherr, Rolls-Royce and Kawasaki , and to engage with a wide range of existing and potential new customers. Since exhibiting, both companies have seen a tangible increase in aerospace business activity.

The meetings at the show indicated a particular demand for titanium Ti CP (Grade 1 and Grade 2), Ti 3Al-2.5V (Grade 9), and Ti 6Al-4V (Grade 5) tubes, matching both businesses' expertise in manufacturing those lightweight products.

Fine Tubes and Superior Tube plants also offer an extended portfolio of seamless, welded and redrawn tubes, in stainless steel, 21-6-9, 321 and 347 and Nickel alloys 625, X-750, and Waspaloy.

From supplying AM350 tubes for the Concorde program in the 1960s to  manufacturing titanium tubing for the 5,000 psi hydraulic systems of the Airbus A380, Superior Tube and Fine Tubes have earned an international reputation for their innovation in developing high-specification products for the most demanding airframe and aircraft engine applications.

Exhibiting at AIRTEC was an important further step forward for the two companies. Having become part of AMETEK, Inc., earlier this year, they are now embarked on realizing the potential for powerful synergies with their new sister companies within AMETEK.

Fine Tubes and Superior Tube are units of AMETEK Specialty Metal Products, a division of AMETEK, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices.
