Overview
This announcement adds part numbers to the previously announced LANDesk(TM) Management Suite for ThinkVantage(TM) Technologies software offerings. This is not an announcement for new products. The additional part numbers are used to enable volume discounts for commercial, government, and educational accounts. The part numbers featured in this announcement require pre-approval from LANDesk(TM) before they can be purchased. For a list of approved part numbers refer to Hardware Announcement 105-341 , dated September 13, 2005.
LANDesk Management Suite 8.6 for ThinkVantage Technologies is a complete client management solution that delivers integrated management and security solutions for desktops and mobile devices. This solution is focused on improving business productivity and efficiency as customers deploy, connect, protect, support, and dispose of company PCs. It offers industry-leading features that help improve productivity, reduce costs, and deliver a complete systems management solution.
LANDesk Management Suite 8.6 for ThinkVantage Technologies provides:
Endpoint security management, including vulnerability detection, spyware removal, and device access control
Asset and compliance management, including device discovery, software inventory, plus extended document and asset tracking with date-based alerting, and software license monitoring and reporting
Configuration management, including software and patch distribution, operating system deployment, and policy-based application install
Problem resolution, including secure remote control, application healing, and enterprise help desk integration
Centrally managed ThinkVantage Technologies from one console
LANDesk Management Suite 8.6 for ThinkVantage Technologies is solely supported by LANDesk, not Lenovo(TM). ThinkVantage Technologies enhancements added to the LANDesk Management Suite 8.6 console include:
Install and monitor usage of ThinkVantage Technologies
Manage Rescue and Recovery(TM) configurations as well as remotely initiate a backup or recovery
Create and distribute packages, manage configurations, and track results of Antidote Delivery Manager
Detect vulnerability if Rescue and Recovery is not active
Notify LANDesk when Away button is activated; for example, activate LANDesk Peer Download capability to streamline software updates
Launch Access Connection Admin Console
Create and distribute Access Connections profiles
Launch ImageUltra(TM) Builder (IUB) to build and manage IUB images
Deploy IUB images
Launch and log Secure Data Disposal(TM) activity remotely
Create and deploy System Migration Assistant(TM) profiles
