Laird Technologies to Focus on Safety and Productivity at Mining Event

Company to Showcase SAIMnet and Remote Control Solutions at CIM 2013

St. Louis, Missouri, USA -- Laird Technologies, Inc., a global technology company, will showcase solutions focused on increasing safety and productivity for the mining industry at next month’s CIM Convention Exhibition. An industry leader in radio remote controls, Laird will display their SIAMnet underground communication system along with a variety of remote control solutions for mining.

Laird’s Wireless Automation and Control Solutions (WACS) division will be attending the CIM 2013 Convention Exhibition, May 5-8, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in Toronto. Laird will exhibit at booth #1816.

“Safety and productivity are import to mine operators,” said Vice President of Sales – Global Mining, Eric Brouillette. “Attending CIM allows Laird to showcase how our solutions improve safety, efficiency and productivity for the mining industry.”

SIAMnet provides a safe and efficient mining environment by combining conventional two-way radio technology with high speed data transmission. This underground communication system offers full diagnostics and monitoring for the entire mine. Remote calibration and support is also available through the SIAMnet Diagnostic System. From any remote location, the system allows the user to find the exact cause of a problem and take corrective actions without going underground.

Through the CattronControl™ family of remote control products, Laird offers a variety of solutions for the mining industry that increase flexibility and safety and result in a streamlined workflow. All of the products are fully customizable and feature feedback information onto a graphic LCD. The CANopen Remote Control for mines addresses the new generation of mining vehicle by simplifying the installation of a remote control on any CAN-based vehicle.

CIM 2013 Convention Exhibition is the signature event of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). The exhibition will feature over 400 exhibiting companies and draws attendees from all sectors of the mining industry. The Convention includes workshops, technical programs and networking opportunities.
