Karen C. Tripp Joins L-3 as Vice President, Corporate Communications

NEW YORK-- Dec. 3, 2007--L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it has appointed Karen C. Tripp as Vice President, Corporate Communications, effective immediately. In this position, Ms. Tripp will integrate L-3's diverse communications functions, including internal and external communications, marketing communications, advertising and media and investor communications, as well as a variety of other initiatives. Ms. Tripp will report to Michael T. Strianese, President and Chief Executive Officer of L-3.
Ms. Tripp has over 20 years of experience across a broad array of global corporate and industrial communications disciplines, as well as significant experience in the aerospace and defense sectors. Most recently, Ms. Tripp served as General Manager of Global Communications for General Electric's $16 billion Aviation unit, a position she held since 2002. Prior to joining GE, Ms. Tripp was Vice President of Corporate Communications for Rockwell Collins, a position she held from 1997 to 2002.
"Karen Tripp has proven experience leading highly credible and successful integrated communications organizations in our industry," said Mr. Strianese. Ms. Tripp holds a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration degree from the University of North Dakota. She is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and a certified flight instructor.
