JVC ProHD Portable Bridge Collects Three Newbay Best of Show Awards at NAB 2017

WAYNE, NJ (May 8, 2017) – JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, today announced its new PB-CELL200 ProHD Portable Bridge, a bonded LTE hotspot for streaming video from multiple ProHD, 4KCAM, and JVC PTZ streaming camera models, won three Best of Show Awards presented by NewBay’s TV Technology, Digital Video, and Government Video at last month’s 2017 NAB Show. The company also received a Best of Show Award from Sound & Video Contractor for its KY-PZ100 robotic PTZ network video production camera.

NewBay publishes a number of industry print and digital publications. Its Best of Show nominees are evaluated by a panel of engineers and industry experts, and awards are selected based on innovation, feature set, cost efficiency, and performance in serving the industry.

“The products nominated for the Best of Show program, now in its fourth year, provide an outstanding overview of new technology on the show floor and shine a spotlight on the very best,” said Eric Trabb, vice president and group publisher, NewBay Broadcast & Video Group.

“While JVC has been a pioneer in video-over-IP technology for ENG, we’re relatively new to the bonded cellular marketplace,” said Joe D’Amico, vice president of broadcast sales for JVCKENWOOD USA. “We’re honored that our ProHD Portable Bridge was recognized at NAB by so many NewBay contributors. It’s going to be a very popular option for sports, production, and live news and event coverage.”

The ProHD Portable Bridge is a self-contained, secure remote broadcasting hub with dual cellular modems and dual-band Wi-Fi that allows independent network connections to work together to maximize throughput. Powered by AC or attached Anton/Bauer battery, it features Peplink’s SpeedFusion VPN Bonding technology, which combines multiple cellular, wired, and Wi-Fi connections. Unlike other bonded solutions, the ProHD Portable Bridge allows live streaming from multiple cameras to HD-SDI decoders or servers at a central location, as well as CDNs like JVCVIDEOCLOUD and Facebook Live. The ProHD Portable Bridge also offers a bonded IP connection for standard Wi-Fi devices, including cell phones, tablets, and laptops. Dual cellular modems and redundant SIM slots support up to four different cellular providers for bandwidth bonding, data overage protection, or blind spot elimination.
