Join Discussions about Zeta Potential Measurement at the International BES Symposium 2011

7 April 2011: Malvern, UK: Malcolm Connah, Product Marketing Manager, Nanometrics for Malvern Instruments, will make presentations about novel methods for measuring the zeta potential of proteins at a pre-conference workshop and as part of the plenary session during the 21st International Symposium of the Bioelectrochemical Society (BES). The conference takes place in Cracow (Poland) from 8-12 May 2011.

In his plenary session presentation on 9 May, Malcolm will discuss a new method that improves accuracy and repeatability when measuring the zeta potential of proteins. He will explain how to achieve this through the separation of proteins from electrodes using a diffusion barrier method without membranes. This is necessary because protein aggregation can occur at the surface of electrodes, and the zeta potential of aggregates can be markedly different to that of the native protein.

The Zetasizer Nano from Malvern Instruments uses light scattering techniques to measure hydrodynamic size, zeta potential, and molecular weight of proteins. For further information please visit www.malvern.com/zetasizer
