Jeanne Asquith Honored for Longtime Service to ASTM Soil and Rock Committee



W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. — ASTM International Committee D18 on Soil and Rock has recognized the exceptional and longtime service of Jeanne Asquith, president and laboratory manager at 3rd Rock LLC in East Aurora, New York, with the Woodland G. Shockley Memorial Award.



An ASTM member since 1990, Asquith was secretary of D18 from 2001 to 2007 and currently serves as membership secretary. The committee has recognized her work with several other awards during her tenure, including the Richard S. Ladd Standards Development Award in 2014 and the A. Ivan Johnson Outstanding Achievement Award in 2008.



Asquith is a certified professional geologist and lab manager with more than 25 years of experience in laboratory testing, investigation, remediation and construction projects, including landfills, industrial and hazardous waste sites. She founded her company 3rd Rock LLC in 2000. 3rd Rock provides the construction industry in western and central New York with services for laboratory and field testing of soil, rock, concrete and geosynthetic materials.



Outside ASTM, Asquith is a member of the American Institute of Professional Geologists, the Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists and the New York State Council of Professional Geologists. She holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from Alfred University, Alfred, New York.
