Jackie Peters Awarded Distinguished Service Award by Metal Treating Institute

At its recent Fall Meeting, the Metal Treating Institute (MTI), the world’s largest network of heat treaters in the world, recognized Jackie Peters, from Peters’ Heat Treating, with the Distinguished Service Award. Peters’ Heat Treating is a family-owned company founded in 1979 with plants in Meadville and McKean, Pennsylvania.

The Distinguished Service Award is given to the MTI member in recognition of their current and on-going commitment to the betterment of the Metal Treating Institute with one of more notable accomplishments.

MTI Awards Chair, Bob Hill, stated during the award ceremony, “In our industry, when you think of the word service, the name Jackie Peters always comes to mind.  No matter what the committee or project, she is there willing to help. She is passionate about the industry and cares about the people she serves with. She exemplifies what service is all about.”

Jackie served 10 years on the MTI Board of Trustees with 3 years as Treasurer, 1 year as President Elect and 1 year as President in 2015. She was the first President in recent history to be honored with an award while still in office. MTI would like to say Thank You to Jackie Peters, who epitomizes the characteristics that a true volunteer should possess.

The Metal Treating Institute, established in 1933, is an international non-profit trade association for the heat treating industry. MTI is based in Jacksonville, Florida with members in 38 states and 6 countries.
