ISPE Names Barbara A. Myers, CAE, as Vice President of Professional Development



TAMPA, FLORIDA, USA – ISPE announced today that it has named Barbara A. Myers, CAE, to the newly created position of Vice President of Professional Development. In her new role, Myers will be responsible for stimulating ISPE’s revenue growth by aligning event development and production strategies, advancing the Society’s Member-led and staff-driven business model, initiating integrated product development processes and continuing to refine organizational, membership and product marketing.



“Barbara joins ISPE with a solid background in leadership, marketing, event development and association best practices,” said ISPE President and CEO Nancy S. Berg. “Her addition to the staff will support ISPE’s continued growth and industry leadership. Barbara’s expertise in event and association management will strengthen the Society’s ongoing initiatives to facilitate industry and regulatory discussion and efforts that ensure a reliable global supply of safe, high-quality medicines.”



Myers served for more than ten years in various capacities with the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) International, most recently as Chief Operations Officer. During her time at APCO, Myers was responsible for overseeing all operational business units, including member services, events and corporate outreach, marketing and communications, strategic and international development, knowledge management and governance activities. In her most recent position prior to joining ISPE, Myers served as Chief Account Strategist for Frost Miller Group, where she was responsible for orchestrating and developing marketing and communication strategies for associations and exhibitions.



Myers is a Certified Association Executive (CAE), holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and is enrolled in the Master of Nonprofit Management program at the University of Central Florida. Myers is a current member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), where she also serves on the Marketing Section Council; the International Association of Exhibition and Events (IAEE), where she serves on the Future Trends Task Force; and the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), where she serves as a member of the Research Committee. Myers speaks regularly on association and exhibition marketing and operations.
