ISA and ANSI Event to Introduce New Financial Risk Document to Congressional Staff

On May 7, 2010, the Internet Security Alliance (ISA) and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will brief members of Congress and their staff on the new publication, The Financial Management of Cyber Risk: An Implementation Framework for CFOs.

According to the White House Cyberspace Policy Review, between 2008 and 2009, American business losses due to cyber attacks had grown to more than $1 trillion of intellectual property. In this report, the President asked for a program that would help assign monetary value to cyber risks and consequences, giving organizations greater ability and incentive to address cybersecurity.

The Financial Management of Cyber Risk: An Implementation Framework for CFOs responds directly to the President's request, offering a pragmatic action plan that addresses cybersecurity from an enterprise-wide perspective.

Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO; Ty Sagalow, Zurich North America chief innovation officer; Mark Bregman, Ph.D., Symantec Corp executive vice president and chief technology officer; Tom Jackson, partner at Phillips Nizer LLP; and Harry Oellrich, Guy & Carpenter Co. vice president.
