The two-day event will kick off with a Government Relations & Regulatory Forum to discuss the proposed changes to the RoHS Directive and IPC efforts in regards to the impending changes, as well as other laws and regulations with the power to affect a company's bottom line. The afternoon of 27 April will resume with a full program dedicated to EMS management issues. The EMS Management Council meeting will feature expert presentations on: counterfeit components and how companies can protect themselves from this growing concern, the five most critical elements of an EMS contract, the best practices of lead-free manufacturing and a case study of a U.S. EMS company. Equally important are the networking opportunities at the management meeting, which will foster valuable relationship building and stimulate real-world exchange of lessons learned and successful strategies. On 28 April, the IPC Executive Market & Technology Forum Conference will bring together members from all segments of the electronics supply chain to highlight areas of growth and how each link in the chain can work together to realize these opportunities. This day-long conference will be presented in partnership with the European Institute of Printed Circuits (EIPC). Conference presentations will include an economic forecast from Deutsche Bank and the latest developments and trends in cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Leading consultants with insights into many companies in the European electronics industry will discuss a reverse trend in electronics sourcing that is bringing some business from Asia back to Europe, opportunities in the medical electronics market, and the latest developments in flexible, printed and organic electronics. The conference will conclude with a presentation by a leading European electronics supplier on new cost-saving technologies for green electronics, and a close look at the results of a recent IPC-sponsored study on environmental megatrends.
