IPC Congratulates Congressman Paul Ryan on Election to Speaker of the House of Representatives

Statement from John Mitchell, IPC President and CEO

On behalf of IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® and the estimated 800,000 people employed in our 2,200 U.S. member facilities, we congratulate Congressman Paul Ryan (R-WI) on his election to the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.

During his time in the House, Speaker Ryan has proven himself to be an effective leader of the House Committee on Ways and Means and an informed supporter of the electronics manufacturing industry. Just last month, at IPC’s invitation, he took time from his busy schedule to visit with employees of IPC-member company Creation Technologies, an electronics manufacturing services provider, at the company's manufacturing facility in Oak Creek, Wisc. to discuss key policy issues for Creation Technologies and the industry as a whole. For a news release on that event visit, IPC's news page.

As Speaker Ryan and his colleagues begin a new era in national leadership, IPC members urge them to remember that a healthy electronics manufacturing industry is critical to the economy and national security of the United States. We call on Speaker Ryan to continue supporting public policies that drive technological innovation and advanced manufacturing; promote a 21st century economy and workforce; enable smart regulation; and support science-based environmental protection.
