BANNOCKBURN, Ill., USA, — On behalf of the 800,000 people employed throughout our 2,200 member facilities in the United States, IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries® commends President Obama for highlighting the critical and continuing contribution of the manufacturing sector to the U.S. economy, in his final State of the Union address.
“Manufacturing has created nearly 900,000 new jobs in the past six years,” said President Obama during his remarks on the strengthening economy.
He went on to praise the newly created National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) as an engine for entrepreneurship and further job growth, noting, “We've launched next-generation manufacturing hubs.”
